The first half of the year has gone by at lightening speed! I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with my evolved painting style and I think it shows when you look at my two new pieces for the Spring/Summer TASTY Gallery groups shows. Curator Sheri Hauser from TASTY Gallery has been so kind to include me in her impressive line-up for these current and upcoming exhibitions!
Odd Birds exhibition is now on display until June 10th. For this show, I’ve merged my abstract art style with my love for the whimsical in “Awakened by the Blue”. There are various abstract themes present in this piece and there are also strong Disney references in what I call the “Cinderella birds”.
On June 14th at TASTY Gallery, “Hot Rods & Honeys” opens! This show is in conjunction with Seattle’s “Classic Car weekend”, Bell Street Rendezvous. I respect the Classic car culture as I’ve seen first-hand the attention to detail that go into these amazing vehicles— and the pride their owners have!
The overarching inspiration for my painting Route 66 was just that — the old “Route 66″ and sunny California. I am also a huge fan of Pin-up Girl art and I wanted to incorporate that coquettish nature into this new work as well. This painting is very vibrant in *real life*!! I wish you could all see it up close. I’ve added some detailed pics of this painting on my website (click below the main image).
So, if you are by Seattle— pop by TASTY Gallery and take in these fun shows!
