I’m thrilled to announce I’ve been invited to participate Van Eaton Gallery’s ‘Hanna-Barbera’ exhibition! Van Eaton Gallery is based out of L.A. and specializes in animation art.
I didn’t realize just how many Hanna-Barbera television shows that were out there! Growing up, I remember watching a lot of Smurfs with my sister and my Dad… I also recall a lot of Scooby Doo and adored The Jetsons as well but I’ve had to take myself on a refresher, so I’ve been forcing myself to watch a lot of those shows lately. Hard work! As I always emphasize, research plays a huge part in the energy and shape that goes into one of my paintings.
I’ve decided to focus on painting one character and I’ve narrowed down my top 5… I’m keeping it a secret for now though!
The HB Show: A Group Art Show Tribute to Hanna-Barbera will be held at the Van Eaton Galleries — opening night April 6th 2013.
